Cocopeat (Coir Peat) has been used in Asia and Europe for many years, but is still a relatively new product in the U.S. It is a totally natural, environmentally friendly, recycled product which serves as an organic alternative to Rockwool or Perlite media, and as a replacement for peat moss. Cocopeat (Coir Peat) goes by many names including: coir fiber, coir pith, coir dust and coco fiber. In years past, this by-product of coconut production has been discarded by most factories. The factories where we buy our product separate out the long fibers from the husk of the coconut leaving the cocopeat (Coir Peat). The long fibers are used for the production of mattresses, brooms, mats, and other products. This is where our production starts.
Cocopeat (Coir Peat) can be used for a wide variety of hydroponic crops including: tomato, cucumber, eggplant, capsicum, zucchini, strawberry, melons, and flowers such as roses and chrysanthemums. It is widely used in greenhouses, potting mix suppliers, seedling nurseries, golf green construction, and distributers of horticultural and gardening products
